Easier Phone Contact for Detainees with Legal Counsel

New regulations will make it easier for temporarily detained individuals to contact their legal counsel by phone. Consent for calls will be indefinite and will not require re-obtaining in case of changes in the case, speeding up access to legal aid and reducing bureaucracy.
Key points
Temporarily detained individuals will be able to use the phone indefinitely to speak with their legal counsel, without needing to obtain consent each time.
Consent for phone contact with legal counsel will be valid until the end of the case, even if the court, prosecutor's office, or detention center changes.
The changes aim to fully ensure the right to defense and humane treatment, as well as relieve procedural bodies from unnecessary formalities.
