Higher Funeral Benefit and Automated ZUS Decisions
The act increases the funeral benefit to 7000 PLN and introduces its annual indexation. Additionally, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) will be able to issue decisions automatically, but citizens will retain the right to explanations and human intervention. The changes also apply to funeral benefits for uniformed services and the rules for granting targeted funeral benefits from social assistance.

Funeral benefits for uniformed services (Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service, Internal Security Agency, Intelligence Agency, Military Counterintelligence Service, Military Intelligence Service, Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, Prison Service, Government Protection Service, Marshal's Guard, Polish Army) will also be 7000 PLN and subject to indexation.
New rules for granting targeted funeral benefits from social assistance have been introduced, including conditions for reimbursement of funds.
