President of WUG Designated as Competent Authority for Methane Regulation
The draft act amends the Geological and Mining Law to apply Regulation (EU) 2024/1787 of the European Parliament and of the Council (Methane Regulation). The main change is the designation of the President of the State Mining Authority as the authority responsible for monitoring and enforcing the application of this regulation in Poland. This change results from the obligation for Member States to designate a competent authority by February 5, 2025.
