Extended deadline for reverting to maiden name after divorce

This law extends the time limit for a divorced person to revert to their pre-marriage surname to one year. It gives citizens more time to decide about changing their name after a divorce. The new rule also applies to people whose previous deadline had not yet expired.
Key points
After a divorce, you have one year to declare a return to your previous surname.
If your previous deadline to make this declaration hasn't passed yet, it is automatically extended to one year.
The declaration must be made at a civil registry office or before a consul.
