New Rules for Checking Bank and Credit Union Account Holders' Status
This act changes how banks and Credit Unions (SKOK) verify if their clients are alive. After 5 years of account inactivity, banks and SKOKs will be required to check the PESEL system to confirm if the account holder is alive. In case of a client's death, these institutions will be able to obtain the date of death, simplifying the management of inactive accounts and inheritance processes.
