Draft bill on compensation for damages caused by birds and predators

The bill proposes that farmers and fish breeders be eligible for compensation for damages caused by certain protected birds, including cormorants and cranes. Beneficial changes are also planned for compensation rules regarding damages by wolves, bears, and lynxes, including coverage for lost profits.
Key points
Introduction of compensation for damages to crops and fish ponds caused by cormorants, cranes, geese, swans, ravens, and grey herons.
Removal of the requirement for direct night supervision of livestock as a condition for compensation for attacks by wolves, bears, or lynxes.
Possibility to receive compensation for lost profits (e.g., income from milk sales), not just the value of the lost animal.
Assignment of handling compensation claims for bird damages to the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR).
