New deadlines for farmers to adapt manure storage facilities

This law gives farmers with small and medium farms (up to 210 LSU) extra time to adapt their manure storage facilities to water protection requirements. Farmers must notify the Minister of Agriculture of the need for an extension within 3 months of the law taking effect. The new deadline is the end of 2027 for the smallest farms (up to 20 LSU) and the end of 2025 for larger ones (21-210 LSU).
Key points
Farmers with farms up to 210 LSU who missed the December 31, 2024 deadline can now legally delay adapting their manure storage facilities.
To use the new deadline, farmers must submit a notification to the Minister of Agriculture via an online form within 3 months of the law's entry into force.
Small farms (up to 20 LSU) have until the end of 2027, while medium farms (21-210 LSU) have only until the end of 2025 to comply.
Pending penalty proceedings against farmers for missing the previous deadline will be discontinued if they submit the required notification.
The law waives the need for a zoning permit for certain buildings related to manure storage until the end of 2027.
