Partnership Unions Act: New Rights for Same-Sex and Different-Sex Couples.

The new law introduces partnership unions for two adults, regardless of gender, allowing them to formalize their relationship. The act regulates matters such as common surnames, property issues, the right to care for a partner's child in daily affairs, and the rules for dissolving the union.
Key points
Two adults, regardless of gender, will be able to enter into a partnership union at a civil registry office.
Partners will be able to share a surname, keep their own, or create a double-barrelled surname.
The default property regime will be separation of assets, but partners can establish joint property through a notarial agreement.
A partner will be able to participate in the daily care of the other partner's child and make decisions in everyday matters.
The union can be dissolved by a joint declaration at the registry office (if there are no minor children) or in court.
After dissolution, a partner in financial need may apply for alimony for a period of up to one year.
