A special fund is being established to help the Bełchatów region during the difficult period of closing the mine and power plant. Its mission is to financially support new businesses, create jobs, and develop infrastructure to prevent an economic crisis and depopulation.

The Bełchatów Region Transformation Fund will be established to manage the economic transformation after the phasing out of mining.
The Fund will receive up to 500 million PLN in 2025 to start, with total state budget support planned to reach 1.3 billion PLN by 2030.
Financial support (e.g., loans, guarantees) will be available to companies, local governments, NGOs, and individuals in the region.
The Fund will support investments in areas such as new technologies, environmental protection, training, infrastructure, and job creation.
Local authorities and trade unions will have influence over the Fund's decisions through their representatives on the supervisory board.
