Changes to personal data in motor insurance

The law simplifies the way personal data is provided in insurance documents. When reporting an accident or taking out liability insurance, you no longer have to provide your PESEL or REGON number if you don't have one. This reduces paperwork for drivers and vehicle owners.
Key points
When reporting a traffic accident, you don't have to provide your PESEL or REGON number if you don't have one.
You only need to provide your name (or company name) and address of residence or registered office.
The change applies to the data of the insured person, vehicle owner, and accident participant.
The law will take effect 3 months after its announcement.
