Seniority Pensions: Earlier Retirement for Long-Term Workers (Women and Men)

The bill introduces the possibility of retiring before reaching the general retirement age, provided a sufficiently long period of employment. This applies to both ZUS-insured individuals and farmers, offering them greater flexibility in planning their professional retirement. Conditions include a minimum pension amount and the transfer of OFE funds to the state budget.
Key points
Women with 35 years of service and men with 40 years of service can retire earlier, regardless of age.
The seniority pension is granted if its amount is equal to or higher than the minimum pension.
Individuals wishing to benefit from the seniority pension must transfer funds accumulated in Open Pension Funds (OFE) to the state budget.
The new rules also apply to farmers who, after meeting the service period requirements, can retire earlier.
The act is scheduled to come into force on July 1, 2024.
