Greater support for anti-communist opposition activists and their families

The act introduces new financial support for anti-communist opposition activists and, for the first time, for their widowed spouses. It also makes it easier to obtain official activist status, including for those active in their youth and those previously rejected on formal grounds.
Key points
A new 'Solidarity Benefit' of PLN 3,603.35 per month is introduced for retirement-age activists not entitled to a pension.
Widows and widowers of activists will gain rights to financial allowances (energy allowance and compensatory supplement), one-time aid in difficult situations, and a 51% discount on public transport.
The procedure for obtaining activist status is simplified, including a new path to verify declarations of non-collaboration with communist-era services, opening the way for previously rejected individuals.
Opposition activity before the age of 17 will now be grounds for obtaining activist status.
Underground press journalists will gain rights to pension compensation, and periods of repression will count towards eligibility for unemployment benefits.
The opposition activist ID card will be available in the mObywatel application.
The state will fund special markers for the graves of distinguished activists and publish a list of their names online.
