New Housing Benefit for Prison Service and Tax Exemptions
The draft act introduces a monthly housing benefit for Prison Service officers, replacing previous forms of assistance. The new regulations also provide income tax exemptions for housing benefits and equivalents in various uniformed services and establish budget expenditure limits for this purpose until 2035.

Prison Service officers will receive a new monthly housing benefit, the amount of which depends on a base rate and a location multiplier.
This benefit replaces the previous financial aid for obtaining housing, the cash equivalent for lack of housing, and the renovation equivalent.
Housing benefits and cash equivalents for lack of accommodation for uniformed service officers (including Police, Border Guard, Prison Service) will be exempt from income tax.
A 60-day deadline has been introduced for concluding proceedings specified in the Act on Pension Provision for Officers.
The maximum state budget expenditure limit for the new benefit for the years 2025–2035 is set at over 4.4 billion PLN.
