Amendments to the Act on Legal Advisers: Data Protection, Insurance, and Disciplinary Proceedings
The draft bill introduces changes to the rules on personal data protection by legal advisers and new regulations regarding mandatory civil liability insurance, which is to be concluded by the National Bar of Attorneys-at-Law. The amendment also provides for the possibility of remote proceedings by self-government bodies and tightens liability for unauthorized use of the professional title.

Introduction of a penalty of restriction of liberty or a fine of up to PLN 100,000 for unauthorized use of the professional title 'legal adviser'.
The National Bar of Attorneys-at-Law will conclude a civil liability insurance contract on behalf of legal advisers (with the option for the adviser to resign upon demonstrating individual insurance).
Enabling self-government bodies to hold meetings and adopt resolutions remotely or in a hybrid mode.
Clarification of rules for personal data storage (review every 5 years) and designation of chambers as data controllers.
Changes to disciplinary proceedings, including the introduction of immediate enforceability of final rulings of the Higher Disciplinary Court.
