Changes in railway law: new compensations and procedures
The act introduces new rules for compensating property owners and tenants when railway construction limits the use of their homes or apartments. It also allows for changing the location decision for a railway line in case of unforeseen problems and simplifies procedures for railway tunnels. For citizens, this means better financial protection, but also faster investment procedures.

Property owners whose property value decreases due to restrictions related to railway construction can receive compensation – the application must be submitted within 3 years of the location decision.
Tenants in buildings designated for a railway line can have the cost of substitute rental covered by the investor for a maximum of 12 months.
In case of urgent problems (e.g., force majeure), the voivode can quickly (within 7 days) order the release of construction equipment to the investor, with compensation determined later.
