Out-of-court divorce at the civil registry office: a new, faster procedure.
The law introduces the possibility of getting a divorce at the civil registry office, allowing citizens to avoid long and stressful court cases. This new, faster procedure is available to mutually agreeing couples who have been married for at least a year and have no common minor children. The total cost of such a divorce will be 600 PLN, and the formalities will take a minimum of one month.

Divorce without a court: Consenting couples without common minor children can divorce before the head of the civil registry office.
Required duration: To use the new procedure, the marriage must have lasted for at least one year.
Cooling-off period: At least one month must pass between submitting the initial documents and the final divorce declaration.
Costs: The fee for an out-of-court divorce will total 600 PLN (divided into two payments of 300 PLN).
Quick surname change: During the final visit to the office, spouses can immediately declare a return to their previous surname.
