Report on State Aid and De Minimis Aid for Companies in 2024

In 2024, companies in Poland received a total of PLN 48.9 billion in state aid (1.34% of GDP) and PLN 12.2 billion in de minimis aid. The largest support went to the energy and transport sectors and for environmental protection, with subsidies being the main form of aid. The report shows that large enterprises receive most of the state aid, while micro and small businesses are the primary beneficiaries of de minimis aid.

The largest beneficiaries of state aid were state-owned companies from the energy and media sectors, including Telewizja Polska (PLN 2 billion) and PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna (PLN 1.65 billion).
New support was introduced to cover high energy costs for energy-intensive industries due to the war in Ukraine (PLN 689 million) and aid for companies affected by the flood (PLN 74 million).
