Changes to the CAP Strategic Plan: Peatland Protection, Afforestation Premiums, and Animal Welfare
The Act introduces changes to the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy, adding new interventions regarding the protection of peatlands and wetlands and the continuation of agri-environment-climate commitments. It extends the scope of granting afforestation premiums to include the continuation of commitments from previous programs and sets the deadline for submitting applications for these premiums. It also clarifies the rules for determining payment coefficients for carbon farming and animal welfare, and introduces a written form requirement for legal measures issued by the National Labour Inspectorate.
