New regional skills policy coordination teams in Poland

This law establishes new advisory teams in each Polish region (voivodeship) to coordinate skills policy. Their main task is to issue opinions on whether specific vocational courses should be offered, based on actual labor market needs. For citizens, this means that decisions about school programs will be better aligned with real job opportunities, potentially improving employment prospects.
Key points
New Voivodeship Skills Policy Coordination Teams (WZK) will be created in every region as advisory bodies.
Teams will issue opinions on the relevance of teaching specific professions, based on local labor market demand.
Members will include representatives from labor offices, trade unions, employers, schools, and universities.
Opinions will be valid for 5 years and will influence regional development strategies.
The state will allocate about 12.8 million PLN annually (6.4 million in 2026) to fund these teams, distributed per capita.
The law takes effect on July 1, 2026, but initial team formation starts immediately after publication.
