New Compensation Rules for Farmer Groups: Higher Support Limits

This act introduces new rules for compensation from the Agricultural Protection Fund, increasing the maximum support for farmer groups to 300,000 euros. This aims to provide better financial protection for farmers organized in groups when entities purchasing their products become insolvent. The changes apply to both new and ongoing compensation cases.
Key points
Farmer groups (e.g., cooperatives, producer organizations) can receive up to 300,000 euros in compensation over three years if they haven't been paid for sold agricultural products.
For individual agricultural producers, the compensation limit remains at 50,000 euros over three years.
All groups applying for or having already received compensation must submit additional declarations regarding received public aid.
Proceedings for certain financial penalties, initiated before the act's entry into force, will be discontinued.
The act aims to ensure financial stability for farmers organized in groups, protecting them from the effects of buyer insolvency.
