Alcohol Law Changes: Online Sales and Wine Promotion in Culture
The draft law introduces new rules for online alcohol sales and the promotion of wine products. Citizens will gain the ability to safely purchase wine online with mandatory age verification and delayed delivery, as well as easier access to educational and cultural events related to wine that will not be treated as advertising.
Key points
Online Alcohol Sales: Alcoholic beverages can be purchased online from licensed sellers. Delivery will take place no earlier than 24 hours, packages will be clearly marked, and the recipient must be an adult and electronically verified.
Wine Events and Information: Educational, tourist, and cultural events (e.g., grape harvests, tastings) related to wine products will be permitted and not considered advertising. They must include information about the harmfulness of alcohol and not encourage excessive consumption.
Enhanced Protection for Minors: Strict age verification rules have been introduced for online purchases (at order and delivery) to prevent minors from accessing alcohol.
Support for Wine Tourism: The new regulations aim to support the development of local wineries and culinary tourism by facilitating the organization of events and communication about wine products.
