Simpler bills for electricity, gas, and heat

New regulations require energy companies to attach a clear, simple summary to invoices. This makes it easier to see how much you pay for the energy itself, for distribution, and for EU climate policy costs. Confusing bills will be a thing of the past – key information will be presented in one place, without legal jargon.
Key points
Each invoice for electricity, gas, or heat will include a short, transparent summary written in plain language.
The summary will show: the total amount due, the cost of the energy commodity, the distribution cost, the EU ETS (emissions trading) cost, and the contract period.
This will make it easier to compare offers from different suppliers and understand exactly what you are paying for.
Energy companies have 2 months from the law's effective date to adapt their invoice templates; the law takes effect 3 months after its announcement.
