National Oncology Network reforms: better care coordination and quality

New regulations streamline cancer care organization in Poland. Patients will receive a dedicated care coordinator to help them navigate the system. Hospitals must meet higher quality standards, and the oncology diagnostic card becomes fully electronic.
Key points
Every cancer patient gets a designated care coordinator to help organize diagnosis and treatment
The oncology diagnostic and treatment card will be issued only electronically from January 1, 2027
Hospitals in the oncology network face stricter quality controls – verification every 2 years, with poor results leading to loss of funding or removal from the network
Three levels of oncology facilities introduced – most advanced (level III) will support smaller centers
Hospital accreditation waiting time reduced from 12 to 4 months
