Poland-Albania Social Security Agreement: Easier Pensions and Benefit Transfers

The new regulations will allow combining working periods in Poland and Albania when applying for a pension. Citizens will also be able to receive their benefits directly in their country of residence without obstacles.
Key points
Combining working periods: Insurance periods from Poland and Albania will be added together, making it easier to qualify for a pension or disability benefit.
Transfer of benefits: Pensions, disability benefits, sickness, and maternity allowances can be paid directly to the recipient's country of residence (Poland or Albania).
Avoiding double contributions: Employees posted to work in the other country will remain insured in their home country for up to 24 months (with extension options).
Wide range of benefits: The agreement covers pensions, sickness, maternity, and funeral benefits, as well as unemployment benefits (though unemployment benefits cannot be transferred abroad).
No health insurance coverage: The agreement does not cover free medical treatment or healthcare services in the other country.
