Decriminalization of Marijuana Possession and Home Growing for Personal Use

This bill amends the drug prevention law to decriminalize the possession of up to 15 grams of marijuana and the cultivation of one cannabis plant, provided they are for personal use only. This means adults will no longer face criminal penalties for these activities, aiming to reduce the burden on law enforcement and courts, and to lessen the social stigma for users.
Key points
Possession of up to 15 grams of marijuana for personal use will no longer be a crime.
Growing one cannabis plant for personal use (outside of public spaces) will not be punished.
The new rules will also apply to ongoing cases that have not yet been finalized.
The law will take effect 14 days after its official announcement.
