Act to increase science funding to 3% of GDP

This bill requires the state to annually increase spending on higher education, science, and research. The goal is to reach at least 3% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2034. For citizens, this could mean more funding for universities, better conditions for scientists, and greater opportunities for technological innovation in Poland.
Key points
Spending on science and higher education will gradually increase: from 1.3% of GDP in 2027 to at least 3% of GDP from 2034 onwards.
The government will have to adopt a multi-year financing plan each year, specifying exactly where the money will go (e.g., salaries, infrastructure).
The law aims to improve the quality of education, increase salaries in science, and retain talented researchers in Poland.
