Prison sentences for food fraud: Intentionally placing adulterated food on the market for profit will become a crime punishable by up to 1 year in prison, or up to 3 years for high-value goods.
Monitoring online sales: Inspectors (IJHARS) will have the right to demand seller identification data from online platforms and e-shops to combat dishonest online food trade.
Easier rules for egg producers: Local farms can be exempted from marking eggs at the production site, provided they are marked at the first packing station.
Changes to the 'Poznaj Dobrą Żywność' mark: To avoid confusing consumers, this quality mark will no longer be granted to products that already hold other EU or national quality certificates.
Paid border controls: Agricultural and food products imported from outside the EU will be subject to mandatory, paid border controls to better protect the domestic market.
More lenient approach to minor border errors: For minor labeling errors at the border, inspectors can order corrections instead of issuing an outright import ban.
