Digitalization of real estate purchases by foreigners: cheaper and faster notary procedures

The new regulations introduce a fully electronic workflow for documents concerning real estate purchases by foreigners in Poland. Instead of mailing paper documents, notaries will send them instantly via an online system, reducing notary fees for citizens.
Key points
No more paper documents: All notary deeds regarding property purchases by foreigners will be sent to the ministry strictly electronically.
Lower notary fees: Instead of paying 30 to 60 PLN for paper copies, clients will pay a flat fee of 5 PLN to upload the document to the digital registry.
Faster verification: The electronic CREWAN system will allow instant document transfer, cutting transaction legality check times from days to minutes.
Data security: Digital documents will be stored securely in a central repository for 5 years.
Effective date: The new rules will take effect 3 months after the law is officially published.
