Higher social pension and new allowance for persons unable to live independently
The act introduces an allowance of PLN 2520 for social pension recipients who are completely unable to work and live independently. The allowance will be paid together with the social pension and will be subject to annual indexation. The changes also affect the rules for granting and paying the social pension and the allowance, including in cases of overlap with other benefits.

The allowance will be taken into account when determining eligibility for other publicly funded benefits, with the exception of the supporting benefit.
In case of overlap of the social pension with a family pension or other monetary benefit, the amount of the social pension and the allowance may be reduced.
The right to the social pension and the allowance is suspended or reduced in case of earning income from activities subject to social insurance.
The act enters into force on January 1, 2025.
