'Active Parent' Program: New benefits supporting parents of children aged 12 to 35 months
The act introduces three benefits for parents of children aged 12 to 35 months: 'active parents at work' (PLN 1,500), 'actively in nursery' (up to PLN 1,500), and 'actively at home' (PLN 500). The goal is to facilitate reconciling parenthood with professional activity. These benefits replace the family care capital and the existing subsidy for reducing nursery fees.
Key points
Three 'active parent' benefits introduced for children aged 12 to 35 months: 'active parents at work' (PLN 1,500), 'actively in nursery' (up to PLN 1,500), and 'actively at home' (PLN 500).
Only one of the benefits is granted for the same child for a given month.
The 'active parents at work' benefit is for professionally active parents for a child not in a nursery, kids' club, kindergarten, or under the care of a daycare provider.
The 'actively in nursery' benefit is a co-financing of care costs in a nursery, kids' club, or with a daycare provider, transferred to the account of the entity running the facility.
The 'actively at home' benefit is granted for a child aged 12 to 35 months if other benefits from the program have not been granted.
The act repeals the provisions on family care capital and replaces the existing subsidy for reducing the fee for a child's stay in a nursery.
Applications are submitted exclusively in electronic form to ZUS, and the act enters into force on October 1, 2024.
