Energy voucher and new electricity, gas, and heat prices from July 2024.
The act introduces a one-off financial support, the so-called energy voucher, for lower-income households to help cover energy costs. Simultaneously, from July 1, 2024, new, higher maximum prices for electricity, gas, and district heating are established, ending the previous, lower rates.
Key points
A one-off energy voucher (from PLN 300 to PLN 1200) is introduced for lower-income households (up to PLN 2500 for a single person, up to PLN 1700 per person in a family).
Applications for the energy voucher can be submitted to the municipal or city office from August 1 to September 30, 2024.
From July 1 to December 31, 2024, the maximum electricity price for households will be PLN 500 per MWh.
Prices for gas and district heating will gradually increase; the frozen gas price will be replaced by a tariff price, and the cap on heat price increases will be raised.
The energy voucher is exempt from income tax, not subject to debt collection, and does not count as income when applying for other benefits.
