EU-Armenia Common Aviation Area Agreement – Ratification

The government intends to ratify an agreement opening the aviation market between Poland (and the entire EU) and Armenia. For passengers, this means potentially more direct flights, a wider choice of carriers, and lower ticket prices. The agreement also introduces uniform, high standards of safety and passenger rights protection for all airlines operating on this route.
Key points
Increased competition and new routes: any EU airline will be able to fly to Armenia from any city in the EU, not just from Warsaw as before.
End of the monopoly on the Poland-Armenia route: currently, only one carrier from each country can operate this connection. The agreement removes this restriction.
Uniform passenger rights: in the event of delays, cancellations, or denied boarding, passengers will be protected by the same EU standards, regardless of the carrier.
Higher safety standards: Armenia commits to aligning its aviation regulations with European Union norms, which will increase travel safety.
No additional costs for the state budget: the entry into force of the agreement will not create new financial burdens for Poland.
