Energy, Gas, and Heat Support Extended for 2024
The draft law extends mechanisms protecting households, public institutions, and small businesses from high electricity, gas, and heat prices into 2024. This means continuing price and fee freezes up to certain limits and applying maximum prices above those limits.
Key points
Electricity prices and distribution fees for households will remain frozen at 2022 levels up to a limit of 3 MWh per year (with higher limits for farmers, large families, and people with disabilities).
Above the electricity consumption limits, and for public institutions and small businesses, a maximum electricity price of 693 PLN per MWh will apply.
The gas price for households and other protected consumers (e.g., bakeries, public institutions) will remain capped at 200.17 PLN per MWh, and gas distribution fees will stay at 2022 levels.
Heat prices for households and public institutions will be limited to the level from September 2022 plus 40%.
Energy and heating companies will receive compensation from the state budget and special funds for applying lower prices and rates.
