New Rules for Hiring Trucks and Road Transport Controls
The law introduces new rules for transport companies in Poland and from abroad using hired trucks. It specifies how long these vehicles can be used and what documents are required. It also brings in new penalties for breaking these rules and improves road transport controls, including transport carried out by foreign companies within Poland.
Key points
Polish companies can hire trucks from other EU countries for a limited time (up to 3 months commercially, 2 months non-commercially) under certain conditions.
Foreign EU companies can use hired or Polish vehicles for transport in Poland if they meet specific requirements for the hire agreement and driver.
New financial penalties (5000 PLN) have been introduced for violating the rules on using hired vehicles.
A uniform strategy for controlling transport performed by foreign companies in Poland (cabotage) will be developed.
The penalty for not having certain documents during international road transport control has been reduced from 200 PLN to 50 PLN.
