Digital Exams, New Matura Rules, and Higher Subsidies for Vocational Training
The law introduces digital systems for managing eighth-grade, matura, and vocational exams, making it easier for students to access their results. It also increases subsidies for employers who train young workers and introduces new IT tools to support student development in schools.
Key points
Eighth-grade, matura, and vocational exams will be managed by new central IT systems (SIOEO and SIOEZ), allowing students to check their results online.
Employers training young workers will receive higher subsidies—up to PLN 10,824 for 3 years of training (or up to PLN 13,394 in priority professions), with the amount subject to indexation.
New roles, such as 'IT lab operator,' will be introduced for exams, and students with health issues will be allowed to use health-monitoring apps.
From 2025 to 2027, passing the matura exam will require scoring 30% on compulsory subjects and taking one additional subject, with no minimum score required for the latter.
Schools will gain access to a new IT system to help diagnose student needs and plan support activities for their development.
The fee for grading one exam paper has been increased from PLN 97 to PLN 126, resulting in higher pay for examiners.
