Increased Support for Crop and Livestock Insurance

New regulations expand the list of crops covered by state-subsidized insurance, including herbal plants. Changes are introduced to the rules for subsidies for fruit tree, bush, and strawberry insurance, as well as insurance periods for some crops. The act aims to provide better financial protection for farmers against adverse weather events.

Determination of maximum insurance sums for newly covered crops (sunflower, phacelia, mustard, flax, fibrous hemp, small-seeded legumes, herbal plants) in 2025 by the Minister of Agriculture.
The subsidy for the insurance premium for newly covered crops in 2025 will be 65% of the premium per 1 hectare of cultivation.
Changes regarding subsidies and insurance coverage for some crops will take effect after a positive decision from the European Commission.
