Financing nuclear power plant construction and exempting company from profit payments

New regulations specify how the state will finance the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Poland, transferring money or bonds to the company responsible for the investment. Simultaneously, this company will be exempted from the obligation to pay profits to the state budget starting from 2025, which is intended to facilitate project implementation.
Key points
The state will provide financial support to the company building the nuclear power plant in the form of budget money or treasury bonds.
This support will be allocated for the construction of the power plant and the company's current operations.
Annual limits on the amount of state budget money for this purpose have been set for the years 2025-2030.
The company responsible for building the nuclear power plant will not have to pay profits to the state budget from 2025 onwards.
An annual reporting obligation on the use of received support has been introduced.
