Election Reform: Automatic Registration, Photo ID Mandate, and Mail Ballot Standards.
This Act establishes federal standards to enhance election security and integrity. Citizens will be automatically registered to vote through government agencies, but they will be required to present a photo ID for in-person voting and submit a copy for mail-in voting. Strict limits are also placed on who can handle and return completed mail-in ballots, and federal election results must be reported within 24 hours.
Key points
Mandatory Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) using state and federal agency data, unless the individual explicitly opts out.
Requirement to present a valid photo ID (e.g., driver's license, passport) for in-person voting and submit a copy for mail-in ballots.
Restriction on handling completed mail-in ballots to immediate family members or caregivers only (maximum of two ballots besides one's own).
Creation of a National Database to clean voter lists (remove duplicates/deceased) and mandate results reporting within 24 hours of polls closing.
