Employment Ban for Security Clearance Holders in Certain Entities

New rules prohibit individuals with or recently holding security clearances from working for companies deemed a national security risk. This aims to protect classified information and prevent its exploitation by entities linked to foreign governments. Citizens with such clearances must be aware of these restrictions to avoid severe legal consequences.
Key points
Individuals with security clearances cannot work for or receive funding from companies like Huawei, ZTE, Kaspersky Lab, and others potentially linked to the governments of China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea.
The ban applies while holding a clearance and for 5 years after it becomes inactive.
Violating the ban can result in fines or up to 5 years imprisonment.
Security clearance holders will be notified of these prohibitions when their clearance is issued, renewed, or becomes inactive.
The list of prohibited entities can be modified by the Director of National Intelligence in consultation with the Secretary of Defense or the FBI Director.
