Longer Data Retention for Online Child Exploitation Reports

New rules extend the retention period for reports of online child exploitation from 90 to 180 days. This aims to improve the fight against such crimes and better protect children. Companies can voluntarily keep this data even longer to prevent further exploitation.
Key points
Companies reporting online child exploitation to CyberTipline must now retain that data for 180 days, up from the previous 90 days.
Companies can voluntarily preserve this data for longer than 180 days to more effectively prevent the spread of child exploitation materials.
