Expanding Lobbying Disclosure to Include Political and Strategic Counselors

New rules aim to increase transparency in lobbying activities. This means that individuals providing legislative, political, and strategic counseling services that support lobbying contacts will now have to disclose their activities. This will give citizens better insight into who influences government decisions and how.
Key points
More individuals and activities will be subject to lobbying disclosure requirements, increasing transparency.
Counselors providing services that support lobbying will be treated as lobbyists and must disclose their contacts.
Changes apply to lobbying contacts made on or after the the law's enactment date.
