Limits on State Gun Regulations: Rifles and Shotguns

This bill aims to restrict the ability of states and local governments to regulate the possession, sale, and use of rifles and shotguns. If enacted, state and local laws concerning these firearms could not be more restrictive than federal law, potentially impacting the availability and rules for owning these types of weapons across the country.
Key points
States and local authorities will be limited from imposing stricter regulations on rifles and shotguns than federal law.
This includes rules on design, manufacturing, import, sale, transfer, possession, and marking of rifles and shotguns, as well as their parts, magazines, and stocks.
Any existing or future state or local laws that are more restrictive will become invalid.
Individuals who win a lawsuit for violations of these limitations will be awarded reasonable attorney's fees.
