Protecting Our Communities from Gang Violence Act: New Immigration Rules
This Act amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to establish a definition of a criminal gang and create new grounds for inadmissibility and deportability for aliens associated with such groups. It authorizes the Secretary of Homeland Security to designate criminal gangs and mandates the detention of aliens who are inadmissible or deportable due to gang ties. Additionally, the bill prohibits individuals associated with gangs from filing immigration petitions for others and expands grounds for denaturalization for citizens associated with gangs within 10 years of naturalization.
