More Nurses and Doctors for USA: Visa Facilitation During COVID-19

This act aims to increase the number of nurses and physicians in the United States during the COVID-19 crisis. It does so by recapturing previously unused immigrant visas, which should help fill staffing shortages in healthcare. Citizens may experience improved access to medical care due to increased personnel.
Key points
Up to 40,000 additional visas will be available for professional nurses (25,000) and physicians (15,000), plus their families.
These visas will not be subject to per-country limits, speeding up their issuance.
Applications for these professionals will be processed with priority and without additional fees.
Employers must attest that hiring a foreign worker will not displace a U.S. worker.
