Ending Relief for Debt Collectors: Protecting Aid Programs

This act aims to prevent debt collection companies that have violated the law from receiving Paycheck Protection Program loans. This means that funds from aid programs will be better protected and directed to those who truly need them, rather than to entities that have previously acted unlawfully.
Key points
Debt collectors found to have violated fair debt collection practices within the last 10 years will be ineligible for Paycheck Protection Program loans.
These changes apply only to new loans, not those issued before the act's enactment.
