Equality in Agriculture Programs: No Discrimination or Preferential Treatment

This bill aims to ensure that no one is discriminated against or favored based on race, color, national origin, or sex in Department of Agriculture programs and activities. This means all citizens should have equal opportunities in accessing contracts, grants, employment, and other benefits offered by the department. If someone feels wronged, they will be able to seek legal recourse in court.
Key points
Non-discrimination: The Department of Agriculture cannot discriminate against or favor anyone based on race, color, national origin, or sex in its programs, contracts, or employment.
Equal treatment: This also applies to states, territories, and private entities (including universities) receiving financial assistance from the Department of Agriculture – they cannot discriminate in their operations.
Right to sue: Individuals who feel wronged due to discrimination can file a lawsuit in court and seek damages, including legal fees.
