Easier Citizenship Path for Military Veterans

This act aims to simplify the process for military veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces to obtain American citizenship. It introduces changes that assist them in the naturalization process, even if they previously faced issues with residency or timely application submission. Citizens who served in the military can expect streamlined procedures and support in gaining legal status.
Key points
Veterans can be deemed lawful permanent residents, simplifying residency requirements for naturalization.
Previous removals will not be considered for veterans applying for citizenship.
Pardons for offenses (with some exceptions) will not hinder the naturalization process.
Military recruiters and officers will inform recruits about naturalization options and support programs.
Naturalization applications can be automatically filed for eligible veterans unless they opt out.
Late applications from veterans will be reviewed as if they were timely filed.
