New Campaign Finance Rules: Limits and Prohibitions on Donations.

This act introduces new rules on how candidates for federal office can use unspent campaign money. It sets time limits for spending or donating these funds and prohibits donations to charities controlled by the candidate or their immediate family. This aims to increase transparency and prevent potential conflicts of interest.
Key points
Candidates have 6 years after their last campaign to use or dispose of unspent campaign funds.
Campaign money must first cover campaign debts, then can be returned to donors, given to charities (not family-controlled), or political parties.
Prohibits donating campaign funds to charitable organizations where the candidate or their immediate family are employees, board members, or own a majority of shares.
Individuals who become registered lobbyists must dispose of campaign funds before engaging in lobbying activities.
