Increased Transparency for Veterans' Benefits Claims

New rules ensure that representatives of veterans will have the opportunity to review proposed decisions regarding their benefits before they become final. This gives veterans and their representatives 48 hours to verify and raise any concerns, increasing certainty and control over the process.
Key points
Veterans' representatives (e.g., lawyers, agents) will be notified of a proposed benefits decision.
They will have 48 hours to review the decision and indicate whether the veteran agrees or disputes it.
The final decision cannot be made until the representative has had a chance to review it.
