Iran Sanctions: US Citizen Release Required for Termination

This bill aims to ensure that sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran remain in place. They will only be lifted if all U.S. citizens held in Iran are released and handed over to the U.S. Government. This means U.S. foreign policy will be directly tied to the safety of citizens abroad.
Key points
U.S. sanctions against Iran will not be lifted until all American citizens imprisoned in Iran are released.
The U.S. President must certify to Congress the release of all citizens before sanctions can be altered.
